FNSI - October

The year is slipping away so quickly - and looking at my diary and To Do list is quite scary!

But deadlines are very motivating and what has to be done will get done!

I wasn't very productive at all - my lounge chair s far too comfortable!

The usual crochet - this is using yarn gifted to me - it is very bright - neon colours - but I may as well use it up.

Then I did a bit of hand piecing on these 1" finished squares,,, a mystery project.

Why am I hand-piecing???
I don't have a lot of hand sewing that is on the "Must Be Done Soon" list
so I started this for one of my sewing days... also good to have for TV-watching sewing.

Thanks Cheryll - Happy Birthday for Sunday - and everyone else for the company.

FNSI - September

A bit of a delay this month - but it takes more than a little hiccup to stop me / us sewing and joining Wendy & friends for FNSI.

Naturally, there was some crochet

and then I worked on a foundation pieced block.  I thought / hoped I would finish it on Friday night - but nope... never mind, Saturdays are for sewing too.

I am making a block for a group but not showing the full thing for now.

It got finished over the weekend - one less thing to worry about.

Thanks Wendy - always a good excuse to sew!

Crochet Blocks (32) - August and September

Since we didn't have a Sunday Stitchers Meeting in August - I couldn't hand over the crochet blocks to Maria -so this month is a double whammy!

32 in all

In amongst it all are quite a few rainbow blocks - made with yarn gifted to me from Maureen.

FNWF - September (and life catch up)

The months do roll on by - a lot has happened recently  . ..

Sad news:
we had to farewell our cat (Joey) on 23rd June - he was 14.
and then on 4th August we had to farewell our dog (Levi) - he was 15.
😢😢😢😢😢😢

Wonderful Happy news
We welcomed our 3rd grandchild - second grandson on 15th August - exactly one year one month and one day after our second grandchild.
😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀

and I managed to get to two retreats in August!
Not only extra sewing time - but time off work - always good for the soul.

For Friday Night With (cyber) friends - I did the usual bit of crochet while watching BH&G.

then escaped to Susan's Sewing Space and worked on this:

Its a bit of "secret Sewing" - but many of you will realise what it is for - but I am not saying or admitting anything.

Thanks Cheryll - glad you are back home & can sew along with us
& thanks for the push - else I'd be wasting time doing not much . . LOL

& Welcome Spring - though it/'s not very Spring-like at the moment

Happy to have those duller coloured ones done - now onto the pretty rainbow blocks.

FNSI - July

Another fun Friday Night SewIng with Friends.

a bit of crochet to start...- ...such pretty rainbow colours - lots of ends to sew in though.

Mostly, tonight was threading in the ends of the quilting on this quilt and finishing off the binding.

This is the baby quilt for DD1 who is expecting her #2 in August.   A bigger & better picture later.

After BH&G I joined Chooky and some friends in a Zoom meeting - always a lot of fun with all the chit-chat!

Thanks Wendy for organising us all each month.

Crochet Blocks - June

I was on a mission to finish 25 blocks this month (enough for Maria to make one rug) - didn't quite make it - but got to 19

Quite a stack!!! - All the same at the moment...
like this:

Still have about a ball of each colour so I should be able to finish off another 6.

FNWF - June

Crikey!!!   By this time next month - the year will be half over and we will be celebrating EOFY (End of Financial Year)

Cheryll has kindly gathered us together to sew and share creative projects - all in cyberspace.

Tonight - as usual - some Better Homes & Gardens and crochet -

a bit of yellow to go then black.

Then off to Susan's Sewing Space - to escape the AFL ruckus - fortunately, Geelong won - though you wouldn't think so by the berating from DH....

I worked on my RSC - the colour/s for June are bright blue or dark blue - I used blue and tried to stick to the correct colour where possible.
Sadly didn't finish all 9 blocks - but 6 are done -

3 almost done

(It's a bit of an "odd bod" thing really - but somehow I think it's working.)

I am going to trim the blue back - some will end up narrow - some - well who knows?
My vague plan is that the final squares are 20.5" - that is the largest ruler I own . . .so may need to do some narrow strips ... it's very much a "fly by the seat of my pants" thing.

I'm very grateful Cheryll keeps us going for FNWF - it makes me do something other than the lazy go-to project (crochet) and it makes me do a blog post...LOL   ðŸ¤£

So, pop over here to see what else was buzzing around!  I hope to visit you all over the weekend.

FNWF - April

Here we are again at Cheryll's - sewing, crafting, or just having fun.

It seems like it was only last week that I turned my calendar page over to March and now it's April!!!

I had planned to finish work on time (call it an early mark??) but it didn't happen. . . so the odd jobs I needed to do before I could sew, cut into my sewing time.

As usual, I started with some crochet - this yarn is thicker than 8 ply - so these blocks grow very quickly.

Then I thought I'd get my RSC out of the way - fortunately, I'd cut the strips last night so it was just some quick sewing to put them together.

I may trim some of them back a bit before next month so there is more variety in the sizes.

It's a bit of an odd combination yellow - then pink - but I guess it will all work out in the end.
And it's a nighttime picture - the pinks are brighter than this photo shows.
I will have to expand my design wall for next month!...or use the floor.

Happy weekend to all - hopefully not too much rain where you are and a mildish temperature - it's still "summer" here   ðŸ˜’  27 degrees.

Thanks Cheryll for keeping us on our toes!

FNWF - March

Another fun night gathered with Cheryll & cyber friends - sewing or crafting of some sort.

A crochet block finished
I did my RSC for March - yellow/gold was the theme - such a happy colour!

I also prepped three taggies which I hope to finish over the weekend.

Pop over here to see what others got up to!
Thanks Cheryll for organising - thanks everyone for the company!

FNSI - November

I wasn't very productive tonight - I have been on a sewing retreat at Glenrose Patchwork  - from Monday morning til Friday morning - arrived home about 4PM - unloaded the car - put some stuff away and had a Nana Nap....its a hard slog on retreat - sewing til 12.30AM day after day.
I'm not complaining - I'm very grateful that I am able to go away to a retreat!

More on the retreat later.

Apart from more sorting, putting away and taking pictures - I did some crochet - nothing exciting - but any progress is good progress.

I saw a lot of you were far more productive - well done you!

Thanks Wendy for managing to set aside some time for us - in between celebrating being a grandmother!

FNWF - November

Time is flying by . . .

Thanks to Cheryll who helps keep us on track with sewing & crafty projects . . . .so many things to finish off at this time of the year - and so much "secret" stuff.

The night started - as usual with a bit of crochet while watching BH&G -
The larger yellow piece will end up with Red Orange & Yellow in one block .

Then I escaped to the sewing room and cut & sewed these - It is a possible vague idea for a border for something . . .

I'm lucky enough to have a sewing day tomorrow -
I need some hand sewing . . .
I have a lot of projects to work on -
but none of them are hand sewing that I can take . . .
back to the standby project I think.

Happy weekend all,
I hope you get time to sew, craft, relax -
whatever takes your fancy.

Crochet Blocks - October

I was able to hand over 10 Crochet blocks to Maria this month.  I've been concentrating on "male" colours as I know there are always plenty of "pretty" colours.

No need to comment -
I'm just recording for my records and it's getting near the end of the month.
