July block is done - Nine Patch Barn

I think the farmer needs to get mowing . . .LOL

Black, White & Red Quilt

Many years ago, in my Wynnum Group, for birthdays, we each made everyone a 9 patch block.
Each of us handed out a fabric or two to be used.  I gave everyone a red to go in the centre and at least one piece of black and white.  The rule was to use just black and white for the other fabrics.

Then, a bit less than many years ago, I made them into a top.

Then I put it in a drawer.

Now that my Sunday Stitchers Group is making charity quilts - or Quilts to Give as they are also known,  I decided to finish it off and donate it.

Not sure why I didn't align the red squares differently . . but it's done now!

Crochet Blocks - July

Another stack (10 blocks) for Maria - the rest of the indigenous ones and a blue one.

Happy to have those duller coloured ones done - now onto the pretty rainbow blocks.

FNSI - July

Another fun Friday Night SewIng with Friends.

a bit of crochet to start...- ...such pretty rainbow colours - lots of ends to sew in though.

Mostly, tonight was threading in the ends of the quilting on this quilt and finishing off the binding.

This is the baby quilt for DD1 who is expecting her #2 in August.   A bigger & better picture later.

After BH&G I joined Chooky and some friends in a Zoom meeting - always a lot of fun with all the chit-chat!

RSC - July

July's colour is Purple - yay!!!   Got to love Purple!

Some of the squares are getting a bit big if I am sticking to my maximum of 20" finished size.
Purple - could be mauve or lavender - but all in the Purple family!

Would be great if the next colour is Orange . .

FNWF - July

Half the year is gone -\ EOFY party time!!! (well not if you are in an accounting role . . )

Tonight - the usual crochet while watching BH&G

I am finally finished the red, yellow and black blocks - 28 in all and this block was made with the leftovers of the red & black - funny that I had 3 balls of each colour - all the same brand and weight - and yet I have virtually no yellow left over - some red and still a lot of black.

Next lot of crochet will be lovely bright colours.

Then I sewed the binding onto this quilt - it will be a charity donation - ready for some hand sewing when the mood grabs me - probably only a day time job though being black.

Then I started sewing strips onto my RSC blocks - got one side of each done - the rest will have to wait....getting late...must be bed time.
